What's new in Rally this month

December 2, 2024

The year is winding down (🤯), and while some of us might be hanging holiday lights, we’re not ready to slow down just yet. With a few weeks left in 2024, we’re wrapping up some exciting updates and features to close out the year strong.

We’re so grateful to have played a role in your research journey this past year and can’t wait to see what you accomplish in 2025. Enjoy our final Changelog of 2024 and let’s keep building something great together!

Here’s what’s new this month:

Grow your own dynamic user panels with Forms

With the release of Rally for Teams, we redesigned Forms to help you efficiently grow and manage in-house user panels.

Capture participant data, collect consent, and screen users while automatically keeping profiles up to date and ready for Research.

Use Forms to:

Build general opt-in user panels: Forms are an entry point for growing and maintaining a sustainable database of participants that stays current without manual updates.

Create dedicated user panels: Build panels of specific users and keep them engaged for targeted Research. Examples: Early adoptor panel, International panel, High-value customer panel.

Track signups from a specific source or channel: When a participant fills out a form, they get added to an associated List of participants. Use Lists to keep track of where participants sign-up from. Examples: In-app pop-up sign-ups, Marketing newsletter sign-ups, In-person conference sign-ups.

Thank participants with a new Charity Donation incentive type

Researchers are now able to select "Charity Donations" to only send out incentives that can be rewarded as a donation. This is a great option if your participants aren’t able to accept incentives due to company policies.

Enhancements to Group Interviews

In our last changelog, we announced a new study type: Group Interviews. Use Group Interviews to schedule focus groups, small group discussions, or in-person customer panels.

This month, we worked on some updates to make Group Interviews even better:

🎥 Zoom is now available as a video conferencing tool for Group Interviews.

👀 Toggle on Observer Rooms for Group Interviews to invite your team to live stream the interview from a virtual backroom.

Modify studies without a paid seat

We separated the ability to create and modify studies into distinct user permissions so that Rally users can modify studies with a free Rally account. This is one of the ways we are keeping Research collaborative!

Rally for Teams Recap

We launched our biggest update of the year in November! Rally for Teams is the next version of Rally, designed to empower organizations with multiple product pillars and diverse user types. It enables teams to safely and efficiently conduct research by offering:

👬 Multi-Team Support: Rally for Teams lets you have multiple teams within a workspace. Each team has access to its own participants, studies, templates, and incentive budgets. Rally users can be part of one or multiple teams.

💼 Custom User Roles: Create custom roles for your team members and decide who can do what. Keep participant data on lockdown, control who can send out incentives, who can launch studies, and more.

👥 Populations: Segment participants into groups, so only the right teams can access them.

📄 Templates: From consent forms to screener questions, save time with templates that keep everything consistent and on-brand.

💸 Custom Incentives: Easily manage and track incentives, from gift cards to special rewards.

🏆 Updated Navigation: Our shiny new navigation design gives you a sleek sidebar for smoother, faster access.

Improvements and Fixes
  • We made improvements to increase the speed of Rally’s scheduling experience.
  • Remove a guest from an interview calendar invite - the guest will no longer receive updates about the interview.
  • Emails are now branded by default so that you don’t have to spend time switching them.
